After 15 years Dr John Colwell is stepping down as tutor in Doctrine and Ethics at Spurgeon's College to return to pastoral ministry, although with space to continue to write and research. The college is now looking for a new tutor in doctrine, so if you're interested, see advert here.
Suggestions for the possible runners and riders?

I wouldn't like to say in public ... can you finish you're doctorate between now and the closing date? ;-)

I think I'm ok to say that John has accepted the invitation to become pastor of Budleigh Salterton Baptist Church, in East Devon

Andy,
Thanks for posting this notice. On an unrelated note, I am helping to coordinate a conference this summer at the University of St Andrews and would like to get the word out to Baptist ministers. Steve Holmes recommended your blog, would you post the details?
Many thanks,
Luke
On July 14-18 (2009) the University of St Andrews will be hosting the third conference on Scripture and Christian Theology: Genesis and Christian Theology (http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/divinity/rt/conf/genesis09/). The previous conferences on the Gospel of John (2003) and the Epistle to the Hebrews (2006) have provided the opportunity for some lively and fruitful dialogue between biblical scholars, systematic theologians, ethicists, historians and clergy. By gathering around the text of Scripture, the conferences aim to cut through the megaphone diplomacy or the sheer incomprehension that so often marks attempts to communicate between these groups. There are special discounts for clergy and students.
