I am gutted at the news that Sean(the Baptist) is moving to Australia in January. Sean has played an important role in the life of the Baptist Union, providing a much needed theological and biblical perspective. I know he will be greatly missed at Northern, where he has taught for the last eight years. I will miss his wisdom and friendship and can only hope that he won't leave it too long before returning to these shores.
I am also pleased for him as he has new opportunities to write and research, where time in the life in a UK Baptist College, can be hard to find. I look forward to a steady supply of books that will challenge our thinking. I am also pleased at his title Professor of New Testament Studies, indicating that Baptists can still produce world-class scholars, like they have in the past.
I am pleased that he will hopefully still keep blogging.
Thanks Andy. I may need a new blog name and focus once we get out there, but I ave no intention of giving up altogether. It was good to see you briefly last week. We can catch up at Council hopefully.
