As charismatic evangelical Christianity continues to plateau there have been some recent excellent historical and sociological studies of its impact.
1. Words, Wonders and Power: Understanding Contemporary Christian Fundamentalism and Revivalism - Martyn Percy (SPCK, 1996) - a theological study
See also 'Sweet Rapture' essay in Journal of Theology and Sexuality (1997)
2. Charismatic Renewal: The Search for a Theology - Tom Smail, Andrew Walker and Nigel Wright (SPCK, 1993, 1995) - a theological study
3. Worship in the Spirit: Charismatic Worship in the Church of England - James Steven (tudies in Evangelical History and Thought, Paternoster, 2002) - a historical and theological study
4. Reinventing English Evangelicalism, 1966-2001 - Rob Warner (Studies in Evangelical History and Thought, Paternoster, 2007) - a historical and theological study
5. Restoring the Kingdom: The Radical Christianity of the House Church Movement - Andrew Walker (Eagle, 1985, 1988, 1998) - a historical study
6. Selling Worship - Pete Ward (Paternoster, 2005) - a historical study
See also Growing Up Evangelical (SPCK, 1996)
7. Strange Gifts: A Guide to Charismatic Renewal - edited by David Martin and Peter Mullen (Basil Blackwell, 1984) - a theological study
8. Apostolic Networks in Britian - William Kay (Studies in Evangelical History and Thought, Paternoster, 2007) - a sociological study
9. Charismatic Christianity: Sociological Perspectives - Stephen Hunt (Palgrave Macmillan, 1997) - a sociological study
10. The Alpha Enterprise: Evangelism in a Post-Christian Age - Stephen Hunt (Ashgate, 2004) - a sociological study
Excellent list, Andy. I'd say all these were indispensible for grasping where we are - not just charismatics but evnagleicals in general and baptists in particular. And I'd probably add Simon Coleman 'The Globalisation of Charistmatic Christianity' and David Middlemiss 'Interpreting Charismatic Experience' - the latter a book, like Rob Warner's, that grew from Middlemiss' own experience in ministry in the 1980s.

A slightly different slant, but worth the read, is Ian Stackhouse 'Gospel Driven Church' which is, I believe, based on his PhD thesis.
