In a wide ranging interview with NT Wright he ends by saying the big Paul book (the fourth volume in the Christian Origins and the Question of God series) is next on his plate, but he needs a research assistant to help him catch up on his reading:
But what I need (and if anyone out there is listening and wants to come and apply), I need a research assistant who will actually help me line up the key things I need to work with, because otherwise I could spend all four months of the sabbatical, simply sitting in the library reading the stuff I haven’t yet caught up with, and then the sabbatical will be over just when I was ready to start writing. I can’t afford that time, otherwise, it will be another six years.
So give him a bell.
For those of us who are not in the academic world " how would NT Wrights research assistant help him catch up on his reading" Is it similar to a PA producing an executive summary of a management report - what do research assistants do?

I don't know. I would imagine something like you suggest. a research assistant would shift through and find out whats important, point Tom in the right direction.

I would have thought this job would be right up you street Andy, given your academic theological reading!

Thanks Gary, unfortunately I don't have the NT Greek which I think might be important ...

That makes two of us. I really envy the person who gets this gig.
